Widespread success for an app could be defined as 5.7 million visitors, averaging 138,000 per day, 60,000 simultaneously, and a ballpark of 33 minutes spent on the site per visit. Looking at just installations, 61.9% of customers downloaded the app. To say that SportTV 4K in Russia, a streaming video application offering content in 4k resolution, hit it out of the park is an understatement. In 2017, Dexence started developing the app in partnership with Samsung’s television manufacturing operations, together with the cable T.V. network Globosat, a subsidiary of Grupo Globo.
The app was free but exclusive to anyone with one of Samsung’s newest 4K SmartTV lines, shortly ahead of the 2018 World Cup in Russia. Dexence lead development efforts under Globosat’s guidance from the project’s kickoff in 2017. Top of the list was creating a fantastic user experience for Samsung’s existing clients, while also attracting new consumers to buy 4K televisions — the flagship of Samsung’s line at the time.
